Judith "Judy" James Hardy
(octber 16, 1941 - May 15, 2011)
Judy Hardy of Cherry Log, Georgia, deeply loved by her family and countless friends and known throughout her life for her strong Christian faith and her selfless support of others, passed away May 15, 2011 at home. Judy was the dauther of the late Ernest W. James and the late Ruby Phillips Janes. She was a 1963 graduate of Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She taught in Florida and the school systems of Marietta and Fulton County, ending her career in education, teaching and directing the Cobb County Adult Education Department's English as a Second Language program, one of the largest in Georgia. Judy was an active member of Cherry Log Christian Church, and prior to moving to the North Georgia Mountains, the First Baptist Church of Marietta. She continued faithfully attending the Thursday Morning Prayer Group from the Marietta church after she moved and delighted in celebrating the birthdays of long-time Marietta friends every month. She became a realtor after moving to the mountains in 2005, with her husband, Pete, foudned Love Those Mountains Realty in Ellijay, Georgia. Judy loved music, singing in church choirs, ringing hand bells, and playing the mountain and hammered dulcimers. Her horses were always her passion, increasing her status as a hero to her two granddaughters.
Survivors include: Husband: Pete Hardy of the home; Daughter & son-in-law: Melissa & Alejantro Montes, Ellijay; Son & daughter-in-lwas: P.J. & Julianna Hardy, Marietta, GA; 2 Grandchildren: Isabel Hardy, Zoe Montes.
Memorial services were held Friday, May 20th at 1 PM at Cherry Log Christian Church.
