Spiritual
Formation in Children Through Godly Play
This Fall, we will be adding a new program for children beginning with
age 3 through Grade 2. Godly play is an approach to the Christian
education of children that teaches the tenets of the faith through exploration,
worship and creative play. "Godly play is where a child falls in love
with God." This is a Montessori based approach that
teaches children to honor God with all that they do through life.
Led by Dr. Julie Johnson and Dr. Kristi Mulcahey, the program will need the
assistance of helpers each week. Prayerfully consider becoming a part of
the leadership group.
Elementary
age children (grades 3-5) experience Bible stories in Sunday School. Eager students and teachers each week are exploring different
stories or subjects, and are experiencing Scripture and theology through a
variety of activities.
Youth in grades 6-12 meet each Sunday to
explore the meaning of the faith in a maturing life, as we discuss the
challenges of being a Christian in the modern world.
